I chose Itunes because I was familiar with this podcast. It is very easy to use, and you can get music and videos from it.

Podcasting

A podcast is a way to gather music or videos from an Internet source for your computer. The way podcasting works consist of software programs being downloaded so you can get the music or videos from an RSS feed. Teachers can have students get information from podcasting and watch it to save them both time. One example of podcasting is Itunes. This enables you to download music onto an mp3 player. Podcasting is revolutionizing music and videos. It allows you to access files and have them in hand-held devices. This will help the school systems by once again having more access to new technologies.

AVL

I would lik to talk about the AVL (Alabama Virtual Library), and the ways it can be useful for teachers and students. The library is an online source for information so you wont have to leave your house at anytime unless you dont have internet. It works by typing in key-words on the subject you are looking for. This will cut way down on time for teachers and students so they work can be completed at a more effecient rate.

The way it works is teachers give an assighnment to students and they look up the answers. It's as simple as that! There are various grade levels to choose from all the way up to the college level so the information can be gatherd more quickly. This was just a breif intro to the new way of gathering resources.

About Mr. Sullivan

I really enjoyed the presentation. It was really important that we understand these type of programs for students with disabilities. I also like the fact that Mr. Sullivan was legally blind teaching these programs. I also have a friend with muscular Dystrophy who graduated from college that uses similar systems. I think the presentation was very relevant to what we are learning.
